Walk with me in the footsteps of
Goethe and Schiller in Weimar

Together we may enjoy the unique nature of the Thuringian Forest, one of Germany´s most beautiful highland areas, and walk along the Rennsteig, Europe´s best-known and longest-established high-altitude trail. 

The program in detail:

• You arrive in Eisenach on Sunday before your course starts (look at „Dates of courses“).
• I will pick you up from the ICE (long-distance train)  train station and accompany you to your accommodation.
• During the evening meal you will get to know your fellow participants.
• From the next day on you can expect the following program:

Theory: vocabulary on breakfast; expressing wishes to your host

Practice: at the bank

Theory: vocabulary on food and  commodities

Practice: joint shopping at the supermarket, visit to the library

Theory: describing the way; reading the map of the city; vocabulary in the city

Practice: describing the way; getting to know the most important institutions

3 – Wednesday

Theory: vocabulary on food and beverages at a restaurant, placing orders

Practice: looking up the time of a bus in the timetable, buying a ticket, going by bus to „Hohe Sonne“, walking-tour through the „Drachenschlucht“ back to Eisenach

Practice: group dinner at a historic restaurant in Eisenach, practice placing orders, payment

4 – Thursday

Theory: discussion on tourism; at the hotel

Practice: guided tour through Eisenach

Theory: grammar exercises; discussion on education and labour market

Practice: walking-tour along the Panoramaweg above Eisenach

Theory: history and places of interest in Thuringian´s capital Erfurt

6 – Saturday

Practice: buying a train ticket at the ticket machine; excursion to Erfurt ; city tour with the help of headsets, visiting several places of interest that are not part of the city tour

7 – Sunday

individual freetime activities (possibilities: Bachhaus or Lutherhaus in Eisenach)

8 – Monday

Theory: vocabulary on sports and leisure activities; discussion on hobbies

Practice: having a wellness afternoon at the „Aquaplex“ in Eisenach

Thuringian barbecue

9 – Tuesday

Practice: History of the Wartburg Castle, walking-tour to the Wartburg Castle, guided tour through the castle, walking-tour on the „Rennsteig“ and back to Eisenach

Practice: excursion to Weimar; guided city tour, visiting several places of interest that are not part of the city tour

11 – Thursday

Theory: grammar exercises according to the wishes of the guests

Practice: excursion to Gotha ; visiting “Schloss Friedenstein”, city tour

12 – Friday

Theory: repetition of several topics, grammar exercises, asking questions; role-playing

Practice: evaluation of the course

• During the whole day I will pay special attention that only German is spoken.
• On Saturday you will leave the Irisa Learn and Holiday Experience. It will be my pleasure to accompany you to the train station.
• There are only around 6 participants in each course so that I would be able to adapt the program to your special wishes.
• If you wish to be provided with additional learning material, please ask me at any time.
• Since the cities of Eisenach, Gotha, Erfurt, and Weimar attract thousands of tourists every year, these cities offer a nice variety for your leisure activities in the evening and on Sunday. You are always welcome to my help.
